Adventureland Park

What a fun experience! Went for my daughter’s birthday! Lines were relatively short, lots of food options for the family, fantastic rides!! This park is a cash-less park. Recommend getting their cup for $1 refills, especially because you can do the refill at any of the vendors. Family had an amazing time and the tickets were WELL worth the cost. Highly recommend!!!

Good little park for the DSM area. Right off the bat, the traffic getting out of the park is chaotic and heavy most of the afternoon/evening at park close. Left the park to go get dinner before coming back, and it took 45 minutes to leave the property and drive across the street where the food was. City of Altoona, consider some capacity upgrades in this area. Regarding the park, very unique and fun selection of rides, several go upside down several times! Atmosphere and theming around the park was well done. The ride operations on a few rides left a bit to be desired for the amount of time waiting in line, but many rides only have 1 train. The staff safety protocol was cool to see, visually checking each dispatch before giving the all clear. Park is worth a visit from near or afar, I drove from Eau Claire WI on a Friday. If I come back it would probably be on an earlier weekday when crowds are less.

I haven’t been here in many years. This place has some really impressive rides. I have been to Disney, Busch gardens and other amusement parks and was still impressed with the amount of rides and how intense some of them were, especially the monster and flying dragon. We really had a fun filled day.

Adventureland delivers on all it promises as an amusement park-- whether you're looking for rollercoasters or simple rides, kiddie rides, bumper cars, or fair food (funnel cakes, walking tacos, cotton candy), or arcade games like ski-ball or trying to get a frog onto a lily pad-- with those huge stuffed animal prizes (or giant stuffed corn, fitting for Iowa) THIS PLACE HAS GOT YOU. There is something for everyone and now there is a water park in addition to the water rides of my youth. There are many, many water slides and a lazy river, a swim-up bar/pool and a huge kid splash pad. Many people bring wagons to pull around. They do have strollers for rent as well. I recommend something like a fanny pack or small crossover bag that can ride the rides with you. For the water park, a water tight bag is super helpful (and available for purchase if you need one). Parking passes are a little steep, but you'll need one to enter and find decent parking on a busy weekend or summer day. Entry was easy with online ticket purchase, but you can also buy tickets at the gate. We got half price tickets this trip for their Independence Day special. There is SO MUCH to do, you could get a camp site or stay in the Adventureland hotel and visit two or three days to hit it all. Additionally there is a speedy pass you can purchase which allows you to by-pass the lines and hop on all the rides first like a King. This is pricey, but I will tell you the "40 min" wait displayed on one ride's timer was more like 90. Also fun, they take photos as you whoosh! down those tall coaster drops which makes for a fun memory (and, of course, available to purchase). 100% recommend this park for family trips, or adults only too. Just as it was when we were young, the sites, smells, tastes and sounds are second to none. Core memory unlocked! Definitely wear your sunscreen and ride the Ferris Wheel! 🎡

My family and I enjoyed our visit to this amusement park. We were impressed at the amount and variety of rides, and also food stands. As an out of state visitor, after seeing all the corn crops on the way there, I was finally able to get some Iowa corn! We enjoyed the bucket of cookies also. My 13 year old daughter was set to ride her 200th different coaster while we were visiting. She chose the classic wooden coaster, Tornado, for this milestone and it was a great choice!
