Astro Orbiter Introduce

Astro Orbiter, located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida, is a classic spinning ride that offers guests a thrilling journey through the skies. This iconic attraction is a beloved favorite for guests of all ages, providing a unique perspective of Tomorrowland and the surrounding areas.

Riders board two-person spaceships that rotate around a central axis, gradually ascending to a height of several stories. Once at the top, the spaceships continue to spin, providing a sensation of flight as guests enjoy panoramic views of Tomorrowland and beyond. Guests can control the height of their spaceship by using a joystick located in the cockpit, allowing for a personalized ride experience.

Astro Orbiter is known for its:

  • Classic design: The ride's retro-futuristic aesthetic fits perfectly with the Tomorrowland theme, evoking a sense of nostalgia and wonder.
  • Interactive element: The ability to control the spaceship's height adds an engaging element to the ride, making it more than just a passive spinning experience.
  • Breathtaking views: From high above, guests can see many of Magic Kingdom's iconic landmarks, including Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain, and the Contemporary Resort.
  • Family-friendly fun: Astro Orbiter is a ride that can be enjoyed by guests of all ages, making it a great option for families with children.

Here are some additional details about Astro Orbiter:

  • The ride is open to guests of all heights, but children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone age 14 or older.
  • Astro Orbiter is a slow-loading ride, so guests should expect to wait in line, especially during peak hours.
  • The ride is particularly beautiful at night, when Tomorrowland is illuminated with colorful lights.
  • Astro Orbiter is located near other popular Tomorrowland attractions, such as Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

First time riders. My first visit to Magic Kingdom was the year after the park opened. This was not one of the rides I was able to go on. It was a real look back to the mind of Walt and what his vision for tomorrow land was. It was way faster than I anticipated. As an older rider I was fortunate to have a younger couple help.me out of the capsule. Not super ada accessible. But not totally undooable. If you are willing to sacrifice a little dignity, you can ride. Do t let life slow you down. Shoot for the stars. #ada #space #astrology #Walt

Astro Orbiter is a super fun ride. Many great views of Magic Kingdom can be seen from this ride since it is elevated. I get dizzy a bit easily, but this ride did not make me dizzy even though it spins in a circle. Definitely recommend if the wait isn't too long.

This has long been a family favorite. My 15-year-old wanted to go on it because it was always his favorite. The wait can be long for a very short ride, but it is some of the best views of the park from up there.

This was so fun, a great way to view to park from above. My daughter is 12 and made the comment how cool the view was. Definitely make time for this one!

We always ride this at least once per visit to the Magic Kingdom. We try to wait until the line is less than 30 minutes as it is a short ride. It has spectacular views. The rockets are small for multiple adults, it was a bit of a squeeze with out backpack.
