Boxaroo - Boston Room Escape

Fantastic escape rooms! We've been to Boxaroo twice, once with friends and once as a date and the Storyteller's Secret has to be one of our favorite rooms we've ever done (and we've done quite a few!) Thoughtful design of everything from the puzzles to the lighting to the sound, lots of great moving parts (that all worked!) and tactile elements (loved the beetles and the levers!!). Challenging but never felt frustrating. Would be great as a family event too unlike a lot of escape rooms that get gory. Also our guide Asia was so friendly and helpful!

Went with a group of 8 for the Conundrum Museum room. The room was nicely designed and the puzzles were good. However, being a relatively experienced group, I think we had a few too many people for the room. I think, with an intermediate or experienced group, I would not do this room with more than 5 people. Overall, it was still a pretty fun experience.

We had such a great time in The Storyteller’s Secret! It was so different from other escape rooms we’ve done. I don’t want to give anything away but the puzzles were difficult without being impossible. And getting the scoresheet at the end of the room was a really cool touch. Would definitely come back to Boxaroo - it was one of my favorite rooms we’ve ever done (and we’ve done a lot).

My team and I just completed The Storyteller's Secret yesterday. We found this room because it was highly rated on the "Top Escape Rooms Project" website. We can see why! It was a 75 minute room and we got out with 25:04 to spare. The set design was so intricate and well thought out. Our awesome game master, DJ, told us there were about 500 different cues (lights, sensors, etc.) throughout the room. And what is even more impressive than that number is that they all worked flawlessly. They had an on-theme hint system that was so much cooler than a traditional TV screen. I can't recommend this location enough! We will definitely come back to complete the other rooms.

My boyfriend and I was vacationing in Boston for my birthday. We are experienced escape room player that we liked to do escape room in each city we travelled to. I saw the recommendation on Reddit about the storyteller's room and booked it. It was very different escape room style compared to traditional escape room. It was immersive with the story and I like the way it gives hints in the room. It was almost felt like you are playing a video game and it guide you through in game clues. We liked the puzzle and was very impressed with the mechanics in the game. Everything worked perfectly like you imagined it would, unlike some escape room we have done before has really poor craftsmanship that would break the immersion. We escaped with 5 minutes to spare. We liked it so much that we booked the Magician's Study right after the Story Teller's, and of course escaped that one too! Storyteller's was probably the best escape room we have played so far. 10/10! :)
