I visited the Denver Zoo today and had a wonderful experience. I absolutely loved the zoo and all it had to offer. The staff was incredibly friendly and made the visit even more enjoyable. However, I would recommend planning your visit during better weather conditions, as it can be a bit challenging when the weather is unfavorable. Many animals weren't present, which is understandable given the conditions. Despite that, I'm excited for the future as there was construction happening throughout the day ❤️

I think it’s bigger the San Diego zoo which was the biggest I’ve visited before. They have even some rare species of primates like aye aye which are inhabited in dark environments suited for them. Their collection of orangutans 🦧 and giraffes 🦒 stood out. I loved their fishing cat too! Great collection of snakes 🐍, amphibians and what not. Plan for at least half a day and walk around 7-10k steps!

Super cute place! I’d love to come back. It takes at least 3 hours to see the exhibits on the main loop. So plan to make a day out of it to get your money’s worth! There were two exhibits outside that you could walk through. The kangaroos, and the colorful birds! We got there late, but during the day they offer nectar to feed these birds! Thank you!

Regarding the Denver Zoo Lights event specifically - The attention to detail is incredible, and every corner offers something unique—from glowing animal sculptures to themed areas perfect for photo opportunities. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, with cheerful music and warm holiday vibes throughout. We appreciated how well-organized everything was, with clear pathways and helpful staff to guide visitors. Even with a large crowd, it felt easy to navigate and enjoy the experience. If you're looking for a way to celebrate the season and create lasting memories, Denver Zoo Lights is a must-visit. It's perfect for families, couples, and anyone who loves the magic of the holidays!

5-Star Review of Denver Zoo: We had an amazing day at the Denver Zoo! It was a cloudy Sunday, about 60 degrees, which made it perfect for seeing the animals out and active. We’ve visited many times before, but this was probably our best experience since it wasn’t too crowded. My 2.5-year-old absolutely loved it, especially seeing the elephants, gorillas, and the playful penguins up close! Don't forget to check out the carp, got to see a turtle too in the nature trail area. The stingray area now costs money to visit, and feeding the rays is $2 per cup. It used to be included as part of the zoo admission, but it’s still a fun experience. Lots of walking, but well worth it! Did the train ride (kids under 2 are free, they forgot to mention after i already paid but gave us a ticket for the carousel then too. Both were fun! We didn’t try the food this time, so I can’t comment on that, but we’re excited to see the new area once it opens. Highly recommend for a family outing! Spent maybe 3 hours there.
