Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

Definitely a ride geared towards kids or Minion fans. It’s fairly underwhelming, IMO. I wasn’t a fan of the queue, it felt like watching a short (yet long) intro. When the ride finally started, and at some point they released banana into the room, why didn’t they use “smellitizers” to make it actually smell like bananas? That would’ve been a neat addition! Anywho, fun to do once to say we rode all the rides at Universal, but this was a one and done for us as adults.

A motion simulator ride that takes you through the hiring process of becoming a minion. It’s a fun little story and the ride itself is not too intense although your seat may go a few feet off the ground. They play little clips of the minions throughout the waiting area. All in all, being a minion is not bad. You instantly get a bunch of friends and you don’t have to think much as you do the biddings of your overlord, Gru. Sign me up!

Super cute 2D motion simulator ride. The ride entrance is Gru’s house, complete with the purple front door and space craft car parked in the carport. Get set for a fun filled adventurous ride with Gru, Margo, Agnes, Edith, and the minions. I had an express pass, so there was no wait. Right when I walked in, I was in the foyer to Gru’s house. Then I walked through a queue that lead to Gru’s living room. The design detail was super cool. Luved the family tree drawing and faux mounted taxidermy heads. The girls appear on the house camera video explaining to use that we will be trained as minions. We are then lead to an adjoining room which is Gru’s lab. Gru explains that he has a plan to change us humans into minions and anybody unwilling will be shoot with the fart gun. Minion farts smell like bananas?!? Next you are lead into the ride room. Each vehicle seats four. Another cool thing is that the original movie cast members voice the attraction.

My son had a blast at Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a 3D motion simulator ride that takes you on a hilarious and heartwarming adventure with Gru, his daughters, and the Minions. The ride starts in Gru's home, where he recruits you for his latest scheme: turning you into a Minion. You then board a Minion Transformation Pod and enter his super-villain laboratory, where things go awry and you end up on a wild ride through his gadgets and experiments. The animation is crisp and colorful, the motion is smooth and immersive, and the humor is spot-on. The ride is suitable for all ages, as long as you meet the height requirement of 40 inches. The ride also has a single rider line and a Universal Express option, which can save you some time on busy days. After the ride, you can enjoy the interactive Minion-inspired dance party, where you can boogie with your favorite yellow creatures. You can also explore Super Silly Fun Land, an outdoor play area inspired by the seaside carnival from the first movie. There, you can find a wet and dry playground, a mini coaster, a carousel, and a game zone. You can also shop for Minion merchandise at Super Silly Stuff, or grab a bite at Gru's Lab Cafe. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is a must-do attraction for fans of the movies, or anyone looking for a fun and family-friendly ride. It is one of the highlights of Universal Studios Hollywood, and I highly recommend it.

The premise of this ride is Gru turns you into a minion and you begin your minion training. Of course things go wrong as they often do. This is a motion simulator ride. It takes place in a large theatre and the action takes place on screen. The kids love this ride, there is some interaction in the queue line and kids can be heard yelling out answers to questions. Overall a good ride.
