Discovery Cove

Amazing experience! My husband and I took our 11yo son to Discovery Cove over the weekend for his birthday, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations! The food was great, with a pretty big selection, and available pretty much all day. Tons of snacks and little bites around for the taking as well. We had a cabana, and it was in an excellent, private location, right on the beautiful water near the otters. Felt like a really central location, and the whole park isn’t too big where you feel like you have to walk a mile to get to the other sections. Jeff was very attentive at the cabana, checking on us throughout the day, and made us feel really special when he was waiting for us with towels on the beach after our dolphin swim! Everyone who we encountered who worked there was really pleasant and friendly. We felt like we were at an all inclusive island resort. The place was beautiful, clean, and quiet, and just what we needed after an exhausting day at a theme park the day before. And even though it was a Saturday, it did not feel overcrowded whatsoever, and I loved that we could do everything at our own pace. Well worth the price. 10/10 would recommend!

Once in a lifetime experience. We visited on Christmas Day, arrived early (7am) and were greeted swiftly by some very welcoming staff. We got checked in and given our dolphin swim time (and shark swim time). Waited in a small queue for breakfast. As the resort is all inclusive, the breakfast was free and had a great variety of cooked and cold breakfast foods, as well as hot and cold drinks. Our dolphin swim was early so we went to get the complimentary wet suits on. The older lady helping us with a little rude and unhelpful. Every single other person there was in wetsuits, but she refused to give us those and told us to wear small vests (which was OK but it was very cold). Dolphin swim was of course just a taster session where you get to know the dolphin, learn some interesting facts about the animal and get to stroke it. You then get to hold onto its fin and be pulled along in the water. Not sure how they get away with calling it a dolphin swim, but regardless, great experience. Went to have a look at the professional photos taken at the dolphin swim and there were some good ones but wow, they were expensive! We ended up paying well over $220 for the digital package. Was it worth it? I’m not sure. We then did the swimming with sharks, this was extremely pricey for what it was. I believe it was around $150-200 for me and my son, and you honestly spend approx 5 mins in the water snorkelling above some sharks, I wouldn’t waste your money! Lunch was lovely, a plethora of food available and all very tasty. We also did snorkelled in the grand reef, with countless fish and rays, swam the river and saw / fed the wild birds, amazing experiences! 4 stars because of the expensive photos, the refusal to let us wear wetsuits, and as the day progressed, there were a lack of clean towels and space in the changing rooms. All in all, a great day out, and I think if we came back to Florida, we’d do it again (just perhaps without the shark swim packages).

Had a great day here. Family vacation so we did it all, dolphin swim, sea venture, cabana. $$$ it will cost a lot for the day but all food is included along with drinks and adult beverages. The underwater sea venture is very cool but too short. Cabanas are a nice touch if you want to be out of the sun and have a quiet place. You get an attendant that will bring drinks, fresh towels and overall take care of you for the day.

It's a resort so everything is all exclusive with admission; food, towels, everything. A beautiful place, you feel like you are in some exotic place. So much fun, definitely do the swimming with dolphins 💜 snorkeling, enough for an entire day.

We spent my son's birthday at this all-inclusive resort. We bought the bundle package, which included the dolphin encounter and gift cards for each of us. The food was really good and endless drinks, slushies, ice cream, and snacks. The reef snorkel area was amazing! The photo package is pricey, so be prepared.
