Extreme Escape - Stone Oak

We had a great experience during The Cursed room recently. Staff was friendly and helpful. My kids and their friends enjoyed themselves.

The lack of care for a customer to have an enjoyable experience was mind blowing to me. My boyfriend and I make it a point to try escape rooms at every city we vacation. Our first night we decide to try the Stone Oak location at 8:15pm. Upon entering the manager Avery was coming back inside from what seemed like a break and decided to give us a not so warm greeting. For some reason he assume we weren’t paying customers and told us they’re closed. So my boyfriend said, “We have a reservation” and I replied with, “Do we get a refund if our game is cancelled?” So he checked the reservation and found our names. Red flag one. Then once we got in the room he told us what was behind one of the doors, which ruined the suspense and excitement for us. Red flag two. Then decided we were going too fast so he changed our time to make it seem like we had 15 min left instead of 30min. Red flag three. Then proceeded to try and sell us a picture with half my head cut off and my boyfriend’s eyes closed. What was this man thinking?! We came back for a second time because we paid for 2 games ahead of time. We were actually greeted warmly this time. But the issue was towards the end of the game. We were on the last clue where it said slide. So we assumed we needed to slide something on the wall to achieve winning the game. We were trying to figure this clue out for 10 min. Mind you before then we were given clues left and right. But for some reason we didn’t get a clue for the last one. So we decided to slide a moving part on the wall and we finished the room. Wrong. The game master (Enoch) came in with a huge attitude and said we weren’t supposed to do that. Then told us what we were suppose to do. So I responded with, “This whole time you watched us struggle to achieve this puzzle and saw us sliding the prop on the wall and you said nothing?” He didn’t respond and walked away to the back with an attitude and left us in the front. He wasn’t paying attention to our game when we were on the last clue. The blatant disrespect and lack of care was mind blowing. What a wonderful way to give someone a great experience on Christmas Eve and Day. Shame on these employees. Will never go to this location or recommend this location to anyone.

Had a fantastic time here. Was able to book it over the phone (they do payments over the phone, but you can book it online in case you’re not comfortable giving your payment info away) The staff present, Gabby and Ben, were super friendly with us. The room in question, that being The Lost Tomb, was very well kept, immersive, and cleverly designed. And we would receive easy-to-understand tips or guidance if we were stuck or overthinking a puzzle. Overall an amazing experience, definitely will be returning.

HIGHLY recommend!! Toby, Mars and Anna were so great with the kids! My nephew was a little too scared of CarnEvil and walked out in the middle of the game. However, they talked to him and gave him the courage to walk back in and finish and we completed it with seven minutes left! We had a GREAT time and couldn’t have asked for a better customer service experience. We’ll be back!

Hailey, Mars, Avery were excellent. We enjoyed the Other Side room. Such a fun experience feeling like you were part of helping someone. Thrilling!
