Fort Amarillo RV Park

Really nice entrance, clear signage. Excellent office staff and really nice (& expensive) boutique-store. In the middle of the park there is a really nice, fenced, grassy common walking area with fountain and places to sit. However, dogs are not allowed which is a bummer, since the vast majority of people have at least one dog with them. The rest of the park is VERY dusty, dry, and grass-less = gritty! The sites are INCREDIBLY close together. There is a highway right next to the park that one can see and hear 24 hours a day…….very loud! They have fences between, and cement slabs with picnic tables at most sites, but to me that does not make up for the closeness of the sites. We had the unfortunate experience of neighbours sitting outside, talking, from about 2-4 A.M. two nights in a row ……. just outside our bedroom window! Easy to hook everything up. Laundry was adequate (there are two at the park), although the one closest to us only has two washers & two dryers and one of the dryers was out of order the entire week we were there!! Our kiddos enjoyed the game room and went in the indoor pool once, it is not heated! Shower rooms need some work (see photos). The exercise room was adequate too, but two machines weren’t working. Once again office staff is excellent and even forwarded a package for us!

Last minute change of plans & this campground had availability. What a nice surprise! Lots of pull throughs. One side seems to be more long term. Beautiful park like setting in the middle of the campground. Perfect to relax after a day on the road. Great 1 night stop or longer if exploring the area.

This is a great place to spend a few nights in Amarillo. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the pond and decks are beautiful and the indie indoor pool is a big plus. The sites are well kept and easy to access. We stay here often!

This was a very nice RV park. They have several amenities, including an inside pool. A really nice fenced dog area.They also have a large store in the front that had all sorts of decor, candles, and odds and ends. Very nice to look around. Though this was a very nice place, it wasn't for us. We like camping and they had no trees or grass to speak of. But if you like RV resorts, this would be the perfect place.

Super nice park. A little snug but nice. Park itself is very well maintained. The best dog park by far. Bathrooms very clean. Only complaint there is no privacy in the shower dressing area.
