Funtopia Introduce

Welcome to Funtopia, an adventure-focused amusement center listed in the Theme Park Directory, located at 2639 Aurora Ave, Naperville, IL 60540, USA. This venue offers local users a range of physically engaging activities, including numerous climbing walls, a ropes course, a ninja obstacle course, and a unique giant slide.

Environment: Funtopia primarily features a large area dedicated to climbing walls, with a whole line of them along one entire wall. Above, there is a ropes course in a big square layout, with an option for shorter or younger kids (under 54'') to exit halfway. The second half of the ropes course is noted to be more challenging, recommended for children over 8 or 9 years old. In the center of the facility, there is a ninja obstacle course. Another prominent feature is a giant metal slide that requires kids to grip a bar as they are pulled up while wearing a body suit. Funtopia also includes a small toddler area with shorter, flimsier bounce houses for children around age 3. A water fountain is available for visitors. The facility is generally spacious, and one visitor noted it was not very crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

Services and Features: The main attractions at Funtopia are its extensive climbing walls, the multi-level ropes course, the ninja obstacle course, and the giant metal slide. Admission is offered with different time options, including an all-day pass and a 1.5-hour pass, with the all-day pass costing around $30 per child and the 1.5-hour pass around $25. The ropes course and giant slide are only open when staffed, so access to these may be intermittent. Funtopia also caters to birthday parties, offering party rooms that are described as cool and large. There is a designated play area for toddlers.

Customer Highlights: Customers generally describe Funtopia as a "great adventure" and a "great location" for climbing and sliding. The variety of activities, including the climbing walls, ropes course, ninja course, and giant slide, provides several hours of potential fun. The toddler area is appreciated by those with younger children. Funtopia is also considered a good place for birthday parties, with cool and large party rooms. One reviewer noted that the ropes course can be scary, especially the second half, and the giant slide requires significant upper body strength, which can tire kids' hands. They also recommended wearing lighter clothing as kids can get hot during play. Despite these points, the overall sentiment is positive, with many finding it an enjoyable experience and a good value, especially considering the all-day pass option for first-time visitors.

My friends and I brought our 5 children ages 6-12 to Funtopia. We spent $30/child for the all day pass. As this was our first time, I wasn't sure if $25/1.5 hours would be enough time to enjoy the facility so we paid the extra $5. This is mostly a bunch of climbing walls: a whole line of them on one entire wall. Luckily, they also have a ropes course to walk through (above) which is in 1 big square (shorter/younger kids can get off half-way through if they are under 54'', the 2nd half of the ropes course is much more difficult, I would recommend for over age 8 or 9). The ropes course is pretty scary, some of the kids told me so just keep this in mind, especially the 2nd half. They also have the Ninja obstacle course in the middle of the place and a giant metal slide that kids grab the bar and it pulls them up (they wear a huge body suit thing). Since this is so much upper body/using your hands to grip, the kids hands begin to hurt after a while. They also get really hot, so I would recommend lighter clothing (short-sleeve t-shirt and good gym shoes). They do have a water fountain available. In hindsight, I think 1.5 hours maybe would have been enough time as they were getting pretty exhausted when we hit the 2 hour mark (which is when we left). They only open the ropes course and giant slide when it is staffed, so it is not always open. So once they make the announcement to open these areas, I would encourage your kids to try it out if they are interested because it quickly closes again. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty slow (20 kids about). There is a small toddler area with flimsy bounce houses (the shorter kind) for younger kids around age 3. Overall, it was a great adventure. As it was our first time, I'm glad we got the all day pass, but in the future, I think I will go for 1.5 hours as they know what they are doing now. Enjoy!

If you like climbing and sliding this is a great location, also if you have a birthday party. You can spend several hours here having fun and enjoying . I went there for a birthday party , the rooms are pretty cool and large. Also there is a nice place for the toddlers.

Fun places for kids and adults! Lot of different walls to climb, ninja course, and ceiling drop course too. My only complaint is the climbing walls need to be cleaned, and the latches are hard to click in and out of. Kids want to go back!!

Funtopia is a consistently enjoyable experience. You can easily spend a good two hours there before the fun wears off. My only complaint is the price, which could be a little lower. Even so, the kids adore it, and it's a perfect way to spend a winter day.
