Gizmos Fun Factory Introduce

Welcome to Gizmos Fun Factory, located at 66 Orland Square Dr, Orland Park, IL 60462, USA. As an indoor amusement center listed in the Theme Park Directory, Gizmos Fun Factory aims to provide a space for entertainment and parties.

Based on customer reviews, there are significant concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of Gizmos Fun Factory. One visitor who attended for a birthday party initially found the place nice upon first glance. However, their positive impression quickly changed upon observing a significant amount of dust throughout the play area. They also noted that employees were in the process of putting up Christmas decorations, the bumper cars were permanently closed, and the go-karts were extremely slow with a wait time exceeding 12 minutes. This reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction and stated they would never return, even providing photographic evidence of the apparent filth.

Another visitor who brought their two young children also reported issues with cleanliness. They found the inside of the toddler tubes to be grimy, the outside areas dusty, and the selfie station looking gross. They also encountered a high number of non-working arcade games, including one shooting game missing a gun. Additionally, they were unable to purchase a game card due to both dispensing machines being non-functional (one was off, and the other was out of cards with no attendant available). The condition of the bathrooms was also heavily criticized, with reports of no soap or paper towels in the handicapped stall, dusty light covers, a burnt-out light bulb, and an empty soap dispenser in the main area. This reviewer concluded that cleanliness and maintenance are not priorities at this location and would not return, referring to it as a "Fail Factory."

Despite the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding cleanliness and maintenance, one reviewer did mention that the front desk staff member with long braids was very nice, highlighting her as the best part of their visit. However, this positive interaction with one staff member was overshadowed by the numerous issues with the facility itself.

The environment at Gizmos Fun Factory is an indoor amusement center featuring a play area, bumper cars (reportedly permanently closed), go-karts (reported as very slow), and an arcade. Services include access to these attractions and hosting birthday parties. Key features that can be objectively stated based on the reviews include a front desk staff member who was noted as very nice. However, significant drawbacks reported by multiple reviewers include pervasive dust and dirt throughout the facility, non-functional or poorly maintained attractions (bumper cars, go-karts, arcade games), and dirty and ill-maintained bathrooms. No promotional information was available in the provided reviews. Local users should be aware of the serious concerns raised about the cleanliness and maintenance of Gizmos Fun Factory based on recent customer experiences.

We visited for a birthday party, and at first glance, the place seemed nice. However, once we walked up the stairs and looked over the play area, we were shocked to see how much dust was everywhere! Not only was the place covered in dust, but some employees were busy putting up Christmas decorations, the bumper cars were permanently closed, the go-karts were extremely slow (and we had to wait for over 12 minutes), and the list goes on. I would *never* return to this place again! I’ve added pictures to show just how filthy this place was.

I brought my 2 kids here, 6 and almost 4. The front desk staff girl with long braids was very nice. She was the best part of the day. The bad parts: it's dirty. I don't know why someone said it was clean because it clearly wasn't. The inside of the toddler tubes were grimey looking and the outside was clearly dusty. The selfie station is gross looking and we didn't get a picture and I didn't want one because it looked gross. Most of the games appeared to work but upon closer inspection 1 out of 5 games were not working. One of the 2 player shooting games has no gun. Others were just not working or shut off. There was an area that looked like it was blocked off by some gumball machines. There was just a lot of broken games. We didn't play any because I couldn't find a working machine to dispense a game card. One was off and the other was "our of cards: notify attendent". When I went to notify them at the reward counter, there was nobody there for about 5 minutes so I walked away. The bathrooms needs help. The handicapped stall has its own faucet but was out of soap and paper towels. The industrial style light covers were FULL of dust. One light bulb was out. One of the soaps in the main bathroom was completely out. There is no daily bathroom checks, apparently. That's one of the main reasons why I would not come back. Cleanliness isn't a priority and neither is the maintenance. It was more of a Fail Factory and we wouldn't come back to this location.

The games that aren't working aren't labeled as such. More than half the laser tag vests aren't working (I snapped the pic of 4 players playing and only 3 vests worked then...this was the 3rd time my child played and finally had a vest that worked). When you buy the 39.99 for 3 hours unlimited play with $20 game card, it is not fun to have to wait in line at the front with people initially purchasing in order to get a credit for yet another game not working all while the clock is ticking on unlimited play. No bumper cars. Normally, we have a great time here. However, the attitude of one worker complaining to me about how I am letting her know several games aren't working after all the other employees were polite is baffling. She seems pretty stressed and perhaps coming up with a labeling system as simple as "out of order" would help manage her time.

We recently attended a birthday party here. It’s been about 3 or 4 years since we’ve been here. First time we came it was great. It has absolutely declined! The staff seems young and unenthusiastic. The food was awful. I mean absolutely awful. The pizzas that they brought out were cold and dry! So much so that the hostess had a hard time cutting and serving it to the kids! A few of the adults, kindling myself went down to the cafe to order food. I ordered nachos. They were barely edible. The cheese was lukewarm. The tomatoes were on their last leg and the salsa was old and probably expired. Thankful that it came in a separate container! Someone else order a burger and he said it was awful as well. There were marks all over the walls of the party room. The hostess brought us a lighter to light the birthday cake candle and guess what, the lighter didn’t work. She then proceeded to bring another one and guess why, it didn’t work either! Many of the video games were out of service and not working as well. This place is in dire need of some TLC!

They micromanage your party. The game cards deactivate after a certain time allowed in the place, regardless if you have any credits left on the card. Most are games are broken and the bumper cars are “permanently closed”. My cards were deactivated BEFORE my designated time. The vests for laser tag were broken. Review: I had my son’s 6th birthday party here. We are from out of town so we were unable to visit beforehand. The host was very nice! I have no complaints regarding her. They don’t let you hang anything on the scratched up gray walls. You can only hang decorations on the room divider but if someone is also having a party in the other room, when they move the divider your decorations will fall off. My son had a good time but I do not feel like it was worth the price point. If you are just coming to visit for a day, perfect! If you are having a party, don’t bother unless you don’t mind the micromanaging and most of the activities being broken.
