Wow. Where do I start. First off, our game master, Thomas, was freaking magnificent. Did such a great job of guiding us through the game. Lab Rat is a masterpiece, everything is so thoughtful and immersive. By far the best escape room we've ever done. If you're thinking about it, DO IT. So worth it, I'd play it again.

I did the Lab Rat room quite a few years ago and I can confidently say it is the best escape room I have ever done. We went back to do The Ladder a few days ago and here are my thoughts: -Don't focus solely on the games. Each room has a puzzle storyline and 3 separate games you can play to earn money. We made a decision to only play the games as we heard the puzzles are quite challenging. I think we would have had a better time if we had focused on the puzzles instead. -The production value is very good. There are so many different rooms with different experiences. The storyline is well done. -Go with at least 6 people. I don't think 4 was enough, especially in the last room. In summary, I think this is a great company with innovative and creative ideas, and I love supporting them. I do, however, think The Ladder is overpriced. I would love to go back and try the puzzle route in The Ladder, but I can't bring myself to drop another $90 to do so.

Had a BLAST doing Lab Rat with our great game masters Ben and Shiloh. Hatch is a well run and great fun player focused escape place! A MUST DO in LA

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Stay Away! THANK YOU ANTHONY!!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. My friends and I had booked an escape room at Hatch for a birthday celebration, excited for a fun night out. What we got instead was one of the worst customer service experiences ever, thanks to Anthony, the manager who clearly has no heart and completely ruined a special night. A manager like you will run this business to the ground. We unknowingly arrived over the player limit, but the second we were informed, two of our group immediately left to comply with the 12-person rule. Any reasonable business would have proceeded with the booking as planned, especially since we were now within the required number. But instead of being accommodating or even remotely professional, Anthony refused to host us, effectively ruining our friend’s birthday for absolutely no reason. We drove a far distance with our group and spent so much money on a party bus only for the evening to get ruined by ANTHONY!! To make matters worse, he only offered a partial refund, basically stealing our money after refusing to provide the service we paid for. Unethical, unprofessional, and downright immoral. If you’re looking for an escape room in LA, do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs—unless you enjoy being scammed and disrespected. Plenty of other escape rooms in the city actually understand customer service. Hatch is NOT one of them. BEWARE

Wow. Just wow. If you’re looking for an escape room experience where the biggest puzzle is figuring out why the manager won’t let you in, look no further than Hatch. Our group arrived excited and ready to go, fully aware of the 12-person limit. Two of us even voluntarily stepped aside to comply with the rule. But apparently, logic and basic math weren’t part of the game, because Anthony (he/him), the manager, decided that wasn’t good enough and kicked us out anyway. No real explanation, no flexibility, just a hard “no” delivered with the warmth of a broken air conditioner. It’s almost impressive how quickly they managed to turn enthusiasm into frustration. If Hatch put half as much effort into customer service as they do into enforcing arbitrary decisions, they might actually have a solid business. Instead, we were left standing outside, wondering if the real escape challenge was escaping the passive-aggressive power trip we just experienced. Would not recommend. Unless, of course, you enjoy paying to be turned away at the door.
