Holiday Inn Amarillo West Medical Center, an IHG Hotel

The nightly value seems reasonable but the Pet fee of $75 is a bit steep for one night of stay. Shower was clean, and water was HOT. Enjoyed it. The complementary soaps were cleaned from last use(nozzles turned toward wall) I felt comfortable using. They have the snap in liners, so they are cleaned each use. I like this in hotels. Our shower did spray an excessive amount of water onto the bathroom floor. The beds were comfortable, and clean. AC worked well and no leaks. Curtains closed well to block out the parking lot/ city lights. Staff at desk were kind, and worked fast to attend to each of us in line. Night auditor got on the floor, and hit it running. He was eager to help in co worker and those in line! The breakfast cost extra, we did not opt for this. There is coffee in the lobby, it was delicious and enjoyable with creamer options.

0/10 do not recommend this hotel, nothing was actually wrong with the service, the lobby looked good and all. The bed was real tall for some reason. The main problem was for the price we paid the value wasn’t there. No hot breakfast included and then we got surprised by a $75 pet fee which was more than double what nicer places charge. My family won’t be staying at this hotel ever again.

MUST READ*** The WORST experience I’ve ever had, I booked through IHG, arrived, checked in like normal. Go to room, and to my surprise there are guests in the room. How fun waking a family at 12 to people entering their room. Go back to front desk no other rooms available and was denied a refund due to already checking in. Was told to go back the next day to deal with it after waiting 3 hours. Then had to drive 45 minutes to a different hotel(HILTON IS THE ONLY WAY TO STAY) not sorry I value my time and got extremely upset with the incompetent staff here. Went back a total of nearly 2 hours out of my way to get my money back. DO NOT STAY AT THIS RAT TRAP, STAY HILTON, the extra 20$ is worth your time I assure you. Holiday staff, customer experience training would be in your best interest. Actually any training for you all would be worth your while. **** UPDATE// DAY 8 still no contact with or from management- even better !!! No REFUND! ***

Floor was wet around the AC unit. The walk in shower leaked and the seat didn’t fold up and stay in place. The pool needs desperate repairs. There was sand in the “kiddie pool” hot tub had no jets and we asked for towels and never were provided any. The people before us were given 3 hand towels! (Over 3 days it was never restocked) The front desk lady did not act like she liked her job and would rather enjoy her smoke breaks. At one point a guest was having an issue and she told them she couldn’t do anything and had to go through an app. The GM should be able to be contacted regardless of time. It was 8-9pm so not late. This place used to be nice but has gone downhill over the last several years. I’d pick another hotel!

When we first arrived we were informed that there was high room rate to receive the "complementary breakfast". The next morning when we went to shower we discovered we only had hand towel to shower with. When we called the front desk to request some we were told they ran out. I do not recommend staying here.
