Holiday Inn Express & Suites Altoona-Des Moines, an IHG Hotel

The 4 stars I give this Holiday Inn is not because it does not deserve a 5 stars on its merits within the Express motel/hotel business models. It does deserve a 5 but not amount all hotels so called fast/express limited amenities , etc. It dows not have a pool or really extravagant amenities. It is limited as themed but covers all the needs for inexpensive, clean stays for short stays. The staff is very accomidating, polite and professional. We will definitely stay here again. Breakfast included and ok and freshly prepared.

Two night stay on the 3rd floor: definitely a water leak on the ceiling(should be fixed immediately!) or put room out of service till its fixed, shower did not drain when using, elevator broke the second day with no available options on the 1st floor or second floor.

I have stayed here previously which is why I returned. The Price was double what i paid at a IHG location in Sioux City, IA the day before and my room was not as nice. Toilet was dirty, I cleaned it myself and shower would not drain, otherwise my stay was basically acceptable. If the bathroom wasn't clean I am concerned about the rest of the room. I very politely mentioned my issues at the desk at checkout and the response was no better than Oh Well, better luck next time. I rarely post a poor rating, but for the price of this location, the room was less than satisfactory. I've paid less at a high end hotel in Las Vegas. i have stayed here before with good results but this stay was disappointing. I am usually loyal to IHG but will consider other options in Altoona.

The beds were clean and so comfy! The breakfast was good. The pool was clean and was a very good time! However, the jacuzzi was spitting out some random hair and stuff so we got out. Over all it was a really good stay and the staff was friendly

Every time I stay here for business, Lori the manager, is always polite and super nice. The service is great! The kitchen in the morning for breakfast is always clean. The workers in the kitchen are always concerned if you are happy. The rooms and bathrooms are so clean and the beds are so soft. Thank you for always being good to me. I will always stay here when I am in town.
