Environment: One positive review describes the escape room environment, specifically for the 'Mystery at Innsmouth', as detailed and great. This suggests that the theming and design of their escape rooms are well-executed. However, another review details a chaotic and negative experience in the waiting area and during the initial part of the game due to a misunderstanding about bringing drinks.

Features: Hourglass Escapes offers various escape room experiences, including 'Mystery at Innsmouth'. This particular room is noted for being detailed and great, implying engaging puzzles and an immersive storyline. They also offer merchandise at cheap prices after the game.

Services: The service at Hourglass Escapes appears to be inconsistent. One reviewer praised their game master, Jack, for doing a wonderful job, especially with first-time players. They also noted the cheap prices of merchandise post-game. However, another review paints a starkly different picture, describing a front desk person providing misleading information about drinks, followed by aggressive and unprofessional behavior from the owner, including demanding the group leave and threatening to call the police over two cans of cider. This incident resulted in no refund being offered.

Promotional Information: Looking for a detailed and engaging escape room experience in Seattle? Hourglass Escapes offers rooms like the 'Mystery at Innsmouth', where you can expect a great adventure with helpful game masters. Plus, their merchandise is reportedly very affordable. However, it's important to be aware that some visitors have reported significant issues with customer service, including unprofessional and rude behavior from the owner regarding misunderstandings about bringing beverages into the facility. It's advisable to clarify all rules and regulations beforehand to ensure a smooth experience. While some have had amazing times, others have had disastrous visits, so proceed with caution.

Hourglass Escapes in Seattle offers detailed and potentially engaging escape room experiences, with one positive review highlighting the quality of the 'Mystery at Innsmouth' room and affordable merchandise. However, a critical review indicates severe issues with customer service and unprofessional conduct by the owner regarding a misunderstanding about bringing drinks, resulting in a group being asked to leave without a refund. Potential visitors should be aware of this significant discrepancy in customer experiences.

We did the Mystery at Inssmouth escape with Jack as our game master and had an amazing time - first escape room for most of us and Jack did a wonderful job! Escape room was detailed and great & merch prices after were very cheap. Well worth the money.

AVOID AT ANY COST!!! Our visit to this escape room was a complete disaster . We (7 people) arrived with two cans of cider, and the front desk person instructed us to place them on a shelf saying that no drinks or food was allowed during the game in the game rooms. He didn't inform us that alcohol was prohibited and even mentioned that we could enjoy our drinks during the game but by the front desk only. About 5 minutes after the front desk person told us that the owner saw the cans on the camera and we had to throw them away. We did it the second he told us to do that. This gave us the impression that everything was alright. However, shortly after we began the game, the front desk guy told us that the owner was on his way there and we probably would have to leave. Couple minutes after, the owner stormed in and very rudely demanded (without any explanation) that we leave immediately  He claimed that the police were on their way. Like really? The owner's aggressive and unprofessional behavior was completely uncalled for. I tried to explain to the owner what was going on but he just kept yelling at us and demanding to leave right away. So: the front desk staff let us in with these TWO small drinks for SEVEN people without saying a word, allowed us to drink them during the game, also said to us that he loves that drink and 15 minutes after we were being shouted at and treated like some criminals. Of course we weren't offered any refund so we will be claiming it through the credit card company. God Bless American Express;) We will never return to this escape room and strongly advise others to avoid it. The poor customer service and unprofessional conduct of the owner are simply unacceptable.

We played The Evil Dead 2 and Mystery at Innsmouth escape rooms for a team building event. This place was incredible! The puzzles were thought out very well and the challenge level was perfectly balanced, keeping everyone engaged but having fun at the same time. Two of the best escape rooms I've ever played. Highly recommend!

We loved “Mystery at Innsmouth.” Our team was four adults, and it was a tough, multi-faceted experience with a lot of details and challenges. While this is listed as a medium-difficulty game, we all felt it was significantly harder and should probably be listed as such. Nonetheless, we had a fun time and had to take a few hints, but didn’t totally finish it in the 70+ minutes we were given. The game is well designed, with a lot of intricacies that need to be figured out, and numerous mechanical and electronic clues as well as parts and pieces that reveal themselves. We recommend this game to players who have already tried an escape room before, as this was our first time doing one, but we still had a blast! The GM was very helpful and friendly!

Can't say enough just how much fun me and my friends had here! We did the Evil Dead 2 escape room and it was amazingly well put together, the puzzles were excellent, and our Game Masters were incredibly nice to nerd out with. We're all looking forward to coming back and doing more rooms, especially the Tomb Raider one!
