Such a great place for what I call "family fun day." We went during the holidays and they had the animals aglow set ups that I swore we'd come see next holiday season because I need to see the lights at night. Surprisingly, all the animals were out and about so my kids enjoyed it.

It’s not recommended to visit in winter because many animals sleep at their nests and you can’t find them. The zoo isn’t big, but you still need to walk a lot, to see one or two animals in each part. It’s easy to get tired, and you can’t find a clean place to sit except cafeterias. However, you can find animals from different countries, even Australia and Asia animals. Also, animal here looks happier than other zoos and freely. It’s good place to visit, however if you only looking for more animals, the price is little higher.

LA Zoo has variety of animals. Great place for kids and family. Parking is free. Booking tickets online may save 10-15 minutes. You can book the shuttle tram inside for $9 extra if you don’t want to walk the entire park. Lots of restaurants and restrooms inside. Very neat and clean. Takes about 3-4 hours to visit all the continents in the zoo.

We went Christmas Eve and it was very quiet, but very relaxed. There weren't many employees and most food stands were closed. Even still, it was nice to be there at such a quiet time. It's a beautiful, smaller, zoo and a great place to escape the busy city.

We came for the Christmas light evening show. It was fun exploring the park after dark. We really enjoyed the different animal features all lit up. Churros were perfect addition! Perfect place to bring the family for a few hours of fun. Buy tickets ahead of time, they sell out
