Mystery Mine
REVIEWS
It’s a really fun roller coaster, but restraints aren’t the most comfy so prepare to have your head banging against the seat & restraints. If you can look past that, the coaster itself is super fun with both indoor and outdoor parts

Well now, let me tell ya, I reckon Mystery Mine at Dollywood is one of the wildest, most unique contraptions I ever did lay eyes on! I been ridin’ coasters fer years, but this here one’s got a twist that’ll leave ya hollerin’ louder than a coyote in a canyon. It ain’t no ordinary ride, folks—no sir. You start out slow, creepin’ through the ol’ abandoned mine shafts, and just when ya think it’s all calm, BAM! That vertical climb hits ya like a pickaxe to the back. Straight up to the sky, and then, quicker than a mule on the run, you plunge straight into the depths of the mine! Twists, turns, and a few surprises await, I tell ya. It’s darker than a miner’s camp at midnight down there, and ya never know what’s comin’ next! The whole themin’ is top-notch, too—makes ya feel like yer explorin’ a real abandoned mine, only this time, instead of gold, you’re strikin’ pure adrenaline! There’s fire, there’s a near-vertical drop, and enough thrills to make even the most seasoned rider clutch their hat. I ain’t kiddin’ when I say this here coaster’s somethin’ special. One-of-a-kind, just like those gold nuggets we used to dream of. Five stars all the way—don’t miss yer chance to ride, or you’ll be sorry!

I loved this ride, but when I visited in 2023, some of the effects weren't working. The restraints can also be a little uncomfortable for shorter riders, but they should be okay if you're tall enough. I wish there was a clone of this ride at Silver Dollar City.

This was a fun ride. I like that part of it was indoor and part outdoor. The restraints aren't the best, you're likely to bang your head and ears on them so I tried sticking my head further out than the restraints and then I was fine. The rest of the family also enjoyed this ride

This ride surprised me quite a bit! To start this ride has excellent theming! It is definitely one of the most themed coasters here in America outside of the Disney and universal parks. The drop out of the station is a fun start, no forces but still cool. As you make your way through the mine you go through some weird banked turns and a little dip. The first half of the layout isn't very good, it's kind of slow and awkward. If you're not bracing yourself you might bang your head, so keep it forward and you'll be fine. When you enter back into the mine you go up a second vertical lift. It stops at the top and there is an awesome fire effect. Then you go down a beyond vertical drop into the amazing finale of the ride. It's a barrel roll, followed by a dive loop and it is very intense! The brakes hit very hard on this ride, so brace yourself for that too. Definitely do not miss this ride, it is great!
