The Peterson Park is a great little park in Tempe with cute theme and equipment. It is well kept and clean.

Nice small park, safer than the majority in the Tempe area. Love the historical home.... But the last time we went there was hundreds of bees...not safe for anyone....homeless sleeping there sometimes in the picnic area.

Tempe did an amazing job renovating this park and I take my family here frequently (4-5 times a week when the weather is nice). The size makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids as they play, but you have to be careful little ones don’t wander off through the Oleanders into the adjacent alleyway. Be mindful of the time you go as you will likely encounter folks experiencing houslessness in the mornings, so if that is a concern, visit mid-day and onward.

The parking lot was a bit limited in size and can only fit about 20 cars I think... The parking lot for the park is also for the visitors of the Petersen Museum- also right next to the park, so parking can get crowded. The park itself is small- a short sidewalk leads you past 2 picnic tables and a big pavilion with a few more picnic tables underneath (love that pavilion!) Playground was very innovative and farm-themed and clean; unfortunately no shade...
