Pirates of Speelunker Cave

The cool air inside the show building is phenomenal on a hot day. The ride is slow and relaxing. I have no knowledge of the history of this ride but it is a little weird just riding it having no idea what it’s about. You can’t really figure it out on the ride. Just sit back and enjoy the air conditioning I guess.

Very nice and calm family boat ride through a cave with a pirate theme. You don’t really get wet, except for a few drops towards the end, but that is unintentional, as it looks like a water valve did not completely shut. They might fix this, so there is no getting wet. On a hot day, having this air conditioned indoor calm ride is really nice. You probably need to ride it more then once to really understand the story and see all the animatronics.

I’m so so so glad Six Flags finally brought the old Speelunkers back!! My parents always told me about this ride from when they were young and I had seen so many photos and always wanted to experience it! The lil guys are so cute and you can tell so much work and effort went into updating this ride. I love the colors and effects and the cool 60s vibe it gives off haha. Unfortunately it seems as most of the bad reviews are from people who don’t understand the story and from those who have never heard of/seen the original speelunkers ride. It’s a bit of Six Flags history that I love. Thanks for bringing it back. I recommend all to go out, try and enjoy! 😊

Free scalp massage included with this ride. Not really sure what I just sat through, but you get that free scalp massage as you scratch your head trying to figure out what you just experienced as you walk out of the ride exit.

So glad the Speelunkers are back where they belong. I just wish Six Flags cared about maintaining the ride. The crew running it kept things going smoothly, while not being the most outgoing group, or making an effort to fill boats. The ride's story is pretty murky and doesn't make much effort to connect with guests, but the initial show scenes are better than I expected. While it's wonderful to the Speelunkers, like I mentioned before, they have to be maintained. I saw a hand twitch here and there and maybe two more that actually moved. Otherwise, it's just static scenes of non-working animatronics, which is really disappointing.
