Sandbox VR Introduce
Welcome to Sandbox VR, located at 560 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, IL 60523, USA. As a virtual reality entertainment center listed in the Theme Park Directory, Sandbox VR offers local users and visitors immersive VR gaming experiences.
Based on customer reviews, the experiences at Sandbox VR in Oakbrook Center appear to be varied. One visitor reported a disappointing experience overall. While they found the game itself fun, they encountered issues with the VR headset falling off and felt that the staff was unhelpful and didn't seem to care. Their primary complaint was regarding the staff's attitude, describing a staff member as rude, passive-aggressive, and completely unprofessional during the 15-20 minute setup process, which they felt significantly reduced their one-hour playtime. This visit was for a baby brother's birthday, and the adults in the group were particularly bothered by the staff's demeanor. They perceived the employees as young and lacking enthusiasm or kindness, with one staff member constantly rolling his eyes and making them feel like a burden. Additionally, they experienced glitches and lag in the game. Due to the poor service, technical issues, and overall negative vibe, they stated it was their first and last visit and would not recommend it.
However, another visitor and their grandson had a contrasting experience. They described stumbling upon the place while shopping and found it to be a "cool place." They specifically praised their host, Jacob, as "thee absolute best," noting that he ensured their equipment was correctly fitted and that they understood how everything worked. This positive interaction led them to definitely plan a return visit.
The environment at Sandbox VR is a virtual reality gaming center equipped with VR headsets and technology for immersive experiences. Services include providing VR gaming sessions for individuals and groups. Features include a variety of VR games. However, potential issues highlighted by one review include technical problems with the equipment (headset falling off, game glitches, lag) and unprofessional, rude, and unenthusiastic staff. On the other hand, a helpful and friendly host can significantly enhance the experience. No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users considering Sandbox VR in Oakbrook Center should be aware of the mixed reviews, with some reporting negative experiences due to staff and technical issues, while others have had positive experiences with helpful staff.

1 Star – Disappointing Experience All Around Honestly, the game itself was fun—but that’s about the only positive thing I can say. The headset kept falling off my face, and when we brought it up, no one helped or seemed to care. But the real reason for this 1-star review is the staff's attitude. For the price you pay to play for one hour, you’re really getting a one-hour time slot. Setup alone took 15–20 minutes, and during that time, the staff member helping us was rude, passive-aggressive, and completely unprofessional. We visited for my baby brother’s birthday, and while I hope he didn’t notice, the adults definitely did. The employees seemed like older teens or very young adults, and not one of them showed even a hint of enthusiasm or kindness. The guy assisting us rolled his eyes constantly while explaining how to put on the gear and made us feel like we were a burden rather than paying customers. On top of that, the game was glitchy and lagged throughout. Between the poor service, the tech issues, and the general vibe, I can confidently say this was our first and last visit. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Took my kids for their birthday this past Sunday for the first time ever. I tried to do research before hand about reservations and how long the sessions last per game etc. and the website was not very clear. Over all the experience was just okay. It was fine while it lasted I just don't know if I would justify the price. Over all, it was five of us and were charged $300. While our reservation started at 3:35pm (got there at 3:15) they ran late due to another group and we were not in the room till 4:08 when we had the gear on. Game started shortly. In the end we were walking out by 4:37. We tried the Squid games. My kids liked it and were asking for another game but pay $600 for 40-50 min? That's kinda crazy. Idk if we will be back.

That was too much fun honestly!!! Place is awesome. We had the pleasure of being with another couple and let’s just say we had each others backs. Definitely and atmosphere to make some new friends. Highly highly HIGHLY recommend the experience at least once. You will not regret it. Desmarie was the real MVP though. She set us up, explained everything so well and was just overall super friendly and fun. We will be back. 💜💜💜💜

Had a blast, would definitely recommend going and getting other people to experience this. Jaimie did a great job explaining everything before hand and helped out taking group photos. 5/5!
