Skull Island: Reign of Kong

We love this ride, but we sat at the front row and it was not the best experience. You get a better view from the middle or back rows, as you can see what's happening all around the car.

It’s a decent ride not great but also not that terrible. It does make your head dizzy though so beware

Part of the Universal Studios Florida theme park, Skull Island: Reign of Kong is not a roller coaster or I would not have ridden it. On a busy day, you get quite a lot of prep and story setting as you're in queue. With the park open on a limited basis to the conference attendees, we got to skip through ALL of that and pretty much get ride on the ride. It's a trackless 3D motion simulator with a few spots where the truck moves about. But it is absolutely not a roller coaster. A few scenes with jumping creatures and some screens that simulate an attack by other creatures. Some loud noises and shouting and flashing lights. But really, nothing over the top and if you suspend your reality, it's a fun ride. I don't know that I would wait an hour for this - it's a five minute ride.

Although inside a vehicle, I still think they should have seat belts because it’s too shaky and I almost fell on the stranger next to me. The sight from the left seat on first row is heavily blocked by the driver. And how do you expect people to look at both sides at once? Additionally, the waiting area is way too dark. I barely can see.

Great ride, but definitely not the best in Islands of Adventure. I’ve ridden Fast and Furious and it doesn’t compare at all. The experience in Skull Island is way more detailed, sophisticated and enjoyable throughout. The animatronic at the end is a nice touch. If the waiting time is lower than 30 minutes, then it’s worth it.
