Twisted Colossus six flags Introduce

Twisted Colossus, located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, is a revolutionary hybrid roller coaster that has redefined the thrill ride experience. This innovative coaster, designed and built by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), combines the classic elements of a wooden coaster with the smooth inversions and drops of a steel coaster, creating a unique and unforgettable ride.

A Hybrid Masterpiece:

Twisted Colossus is a conversion of the former Colossus wooden coaster, which operated at the park for over 35 years. RMC transformed the classic wooden coaster into a modern marvel, utilizing their patented I-Box track technology to create a smooth and intense ride experience. The coaster features:

  • A unique Möbius loop track layout, where the two tracks intertwine and cross over each other.
  • Two lift hills, each reaching a height of 121 feet.
  • A breathtaking 80-degree drop of 128 feet.
  • Two inversions, including a zero-g roll and a top gun stall.
  • Numerous airtime hills and twists, providing riders with moments of weightlessness and intense excitement.

A Dueling Experience:

One of the unique features of Twisted Colossus is its dueling element. The coaster operates with two trains, which race along separate tracks for most of the ride. At certain points, the tracks come together, creating a "high-five" element where riders feel like they can reach out and high-five the riders on the other train. This dueling aspect adds an extra layer of excitement and competition to the ride.

A Must-Ride for Thrill Seekers:

Twisted Colossus has quickly become a fan favorite and a must-ride for thrill seekers visiting Six Flags Magic Mountain. Its unique combination of elements, intense airtime, and dueling experience make it one of the most exciting and innovative roller coasters in the world.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: The Thrill Capital of the World:

Twisted Colossus is just one of the many world-class roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The park is known as the "Thrill Capital of the World," boasting a collection of record-breaking coasters that cater to all levels of thrill seekers.

Where wood meets steel indeed. This ride is one you must get on. It first starts with its way up and then its high G force drop will leave you with your teeth showing following a twist and a few loops and once you think its over you are wrong you will start the next adventure on the other colored side rail for opposite twists. Make sure to wave to the other train of riders on the opposite side lol. This ride is one that will leave you filled with adrenaline. (No pictures on this ride)

I was genuinely impressed by how fun this ride was after experiencing the OG all those years ago. Every update they made to it only made it better. That first drop was incredible and INTENSE! Love how many twists and turns it has too. Highly recommend this one!

Twisted is an excellent coaster. We have a kindergartner who loves it. Taller folks will probably be discomforted due to the lack of flexibility in the leg restraints, but that's universal across most of the coasters in the park. What's completely unacceptable is running any less than 3 trains, especially during events like Fright Fest, Holiday in the Park, and bring a friend free days for members. There's no excuse to decide to make a dual track coaster and not properly maintain and operate it to previously established expectations.

I like this ride because of how surprising it is. I think the blue side is more intense but both are equally fun. It can get a little painful when you are getting thrown up, but it isn't a major pain. I would recommend this ride to anyone visiting.

I visited this ride on a day when it was 105 degrees outside! I was wearing linen pants. The ride has a lot of fast and surprising drops. I don't recommend this for anyone who is prone to whiplash or has ever birthed any babies, IYKYK. When I got up out of the ride I felt a breeze and realized my pants had ripped all the way across from pocket to pocket and my butt was completely out! I pinched the fabric and waddled off to find a shop to buy a pair of shorts. I had to waddle across the whole park while holding my butt cheeks! The only store with shorts was by the front of the park. I had to throw the pants away, there was no fixing them. So the ride was a thrill but be warned and make sure you're wearing stretchy pants!
