Vortex

The 3rd B&M coaster ever made. Why so much hate? The other B&Ms at Carowinds are much better coasters, still this is a classic B&M trying something new early on at the start of their company. Kudos to Carowinds for keeping this compact coaster up and running. The other Vortex coaster was not so lucky.

I cannot believe that I liked this ride as much as I actually did. This was an intense ride. The vertical loop has great positives and the corkscrew has nice whip! Many find the stand-up position to be uncomfortable, but I found it to be unique and fun! The ride was also pretty smooth for its age! Don't be scared to give vortex a try when you're here!

It’s definitely not a great experience but it’s a unique experience! Not many of these B&M stand up coasters exist. Probably for good reason but it’s worth trying at least once. Make sure to bend your knees a good amount to force the seat down while the restraints lock so the only thing you have to worry about is head banging. Bracing yourself during the inversions and turns and definitely help with the head banging. It’s a weird sensation that almost feels wrong to be standing up as you crest the lift hill and during the inversions. Hopefully the next generation of stand up coasters makes the ride actually enjoyable.

A little rickety but it’s fun! Standing up is different but you don’t really notice while riding. I would ride it again.

It wasn't terrible, I would probably do it again. It's a really weird feeling to be standing up. Definitely sit in the front, I didn't experience any headbanging or sterilization, luckily. Decent ride.
