The environment at Watkins Antique Carousel, Train & Miniature Golf features multiple areas for recreation and relaxation. There are two main playgrounds: a popular, mostly shaded playground with a Wizard of Oz theme, and a less crowded playground further back with a race horse theme. Features of Watkins Antique Carousel, Train & Miniature Golf include an antique carousel (currently under maintenance), a miniature train ride (currently reported as closed for an extended time), and a miniature golf course. There are two playgrounds with distinct themes: Wizard of Oz (mostly shaded, popular) and race horse (less crowded). The park offers a picnic-friendly environment with plenty of seating and vending machines for snacks and drinks. Accessibility for strollers and wheelchairs is good throughout most areas. A point of concern raised by a reviewer is the high pricing for the train and mini golf without age-based discounts. The prolonged closure of the train is also a significant issue, limiting activities for older children.

Carousel was closed for maintenance, but enjoyed the train and mini golf course. Prices are high with no regard for children's ages ($2 per person for train and $5 per person for golf if you're county residents. Slightly higher for out of county visitors although no one ever asks for residency status). There's a few vending machines for snacks and drinks, lots of places to sit and eat your own food if you bring it. Most areas accommodate strollers/wheelchairs including the main bathrooms which are in good condition. The largest playground is mostly shaded, but fills up fast. Recommend early morning if you want to use the Wizard of Oz theme playground. An additional playground further back with a race horse theme is usually less crowded.

The poor little train has been closed for far too long now -going on year number 4? With all of the resources and handy workmen in MD , why must this little train remain closed for all of these years? Is there a case of the mismanagement of funds at play? What in the world is going on? Taxpayers want to know. The carousel and playgrounds are for the toddlers. The 6-11 year old kids would at least appreciate the train ride with family and friends, if it was working. Otherwise, there is nothing much there to engage them with.

Train has been closed for 4 years now 1st three they needed to replace the track. 2024 oops we forgot to maintain either of the supposedly working trains for 4 years.

Great carousel, little farm, and mini golf. The train is closed for repairs this season and the playground was so packed with hardly anyone wearing masks. Will go back for the carousel again later this summer when the crowds hopefully go down.

Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to close or you will be turned away. Completely disappointed by the rude employee when I showed up at 4:45 who told us we wouldn’t be allowed to ride the train because the ticket counter was already closed. There were still trains going because she was asking for people to load the train with tickets. We live an hour away and there is absolutely nothing on the website that dictates that the ticket counter closes before 5. The playground is ghetto and parents don’t care about watching their kids so that was a wash. What a waste of a day.
